Give the Gift that is Worth Giving!

Strong communities uphold an ethic of "giving back," with individuals and organizations contributing according to their unique gifts and abilities. Resources are shared, with a commitment to leaving no one behind. If you share the YMCA's beliefs and desire to help secure the future of our community's youth, we invite you to join in our quest. Together, you and others who include the YMCA in their planned giving, help the YMCA create a more promising future.

How can YOU give back?
There are various “Ways to Give” - 'Kids Count' Annual Giving, the Capital Campaign, Endowment Giving or a general contribution of unrestricted funds to be used as deemed appropriate.

Restricted funds are given for designated specific purposes by the donor. Unrestricted funds will be used for general YMCA operations.

Cash - Gifts of cash provide us with immediate resources and can result in significant tax savings for you. Cash gifts can be in the form of cash, check or by credit card by filling out the appropriate pledge form specifying where you wish the cash to be used – restricted or unrestricted funds as outlined in the attached forms.

Gifts-In-Kind - In-kind gifts range from furniture, office equipment, facilities maintenance, business services and many kinds of durable goods. In most cases, it provides a charitable deduction equal to the fair market value of the item or service.

Stocks and Securities - A gift of long-term, appreciated securities is advantageous to you in two ways: income taxes are reduced because of the charitable donation and you avoid capital gains tax on the appreciated portion of the donated security. Gifts of appreciated securities may also allow you to make a larger gift to the YMCA than might have been possible with cash.

Corporate Matching Gifts - You may be able to double your contribution to the YMCA if you work for or are retired from a company that has a matching gift program. To match your gift, simply obtain a matching gift form from your company’s Human Resources or Community Relations Department and attach it to your gift to the YMCA.

Deferred Gifts - To acquire the necessary funds to complete the construction of our new facility, we primarily seek gifts that will be available over the next three years. However, deferred or planned gifts will help secure our future. You or your family may want to make a generous gift to the YMCA but retain the right to the income from an asset for a specific time period. There are ways to provide you with a maximum income and tax advantages for years to come, and we welcome the opportunity to discuss these options with you. Examples of such gift vehicles are charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts, and life insurance policies.

Gift Acceptance - The Greater Trenton Area YMCA reserves the right to decline any gift. We suggest that donors talk with family members and a financial advisor about the ways of giving that offer the most benefit. Please contact the Capital Campaign Office if you have ideas about giving that are not outlined above, or should you have any questions at (609) 989-9622.

Know that every gift, large and small, is deeply appreciated and will be acknowledged with pleasure and gratitude!
